So, these piano arrangements aren't actually new, but I just realised I can and should upload them for direct download from itch.io here as well.  It's literally a pdf of piano arrangements/transcriptions, not something you can use in a game but for all us vgm enjoyers:  bonus content :)   They're kind of direct-ish transcriptions pared down to piano, which does mean the difficulty level vacillates somewhat wildly and may not actually be super easy to play as is, but use them as a guide.  

Here's the note I wrote back in 2020.  Like, I can't emphasise enough how important the piano sheet music of the FFVII soundtrack was to me; I had it for years before I had audio downloads of the soundtrack; I had it for a certain time before I'd even PLAYED the game.

In April-May 2020, I composed and produced a soundtrack album to a nonexistent RPG. Writing music for made-up projects, and made-up RPGs inspired by the Final Fantasy series in particular, is something I’ve been doing right along since I was a teenager and the Final Fantasy VII score inspired my composition like no other single thing had before. So this year I took the opportunity to return to my roots with some dedication and make a music project that was “complete” in the sense of covering all the major bases for this kind of game (although, obviously, it could go on and on and be many times longer!) The music is in my own style and isn’t supposed to be an exact pastiche beyond a few nods and winks, but it’s definitely in-genre and meant to make a fan feel right at home...

But, there was another aspect that had been crucial in my own deep enjoyment of the FFVII score, and that was playing the pieces on piano. So of course, in order properly pay tribute with my inspired-by score, I had to also make the piano sheet music! These versions are designed to sound as close to the original tracks as possible while keeping to a moderate difficulty level, rather than being challenging, pianistic arrangements. I was also mimicking the basic style in terms of having few-to-no performance directions(!)

To a large extent, this piano book is the rest of my love letter to the makers of Final Fantasy VII and Nobuo Uematsu in particular. I know I’m not the only one his music has meant such a lot to, or who is indulging in a bit of nostalgia at the moment.
